Following an obviously unsuccessful engagement with the management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), the Administrator of Okene Local Government Area, Mall Abdulrazaq Muhammad has instructed residents to suspend payment of electricity bills.

This directive is coming after myriads of complaints on incessant power outage in the local government and subsequent engagements did not yield any positive change.
Abdulrazaq in a press statement made available to Ebira Reporters on Thursday, also directed AEDC to halt further disconnection of electricity at residential houses or business offices in the local government pending the determination of the matter.
"From available records, evidences and enquiries, it was observed that, the epileptic power supply in Okene is a deliberate attempt to punish the people and ridicule the government," he said.

The Administrator also sued for calm while urging residents to report deviant AEDC officials for necessary actions.
