I Will Work For Completion Of Ajaokuta Steel Complex – House Of Reps Aspirant


A foremost aspirant of House of Representatives for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Yusuf Umoru Balogun said resuscitation of the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Complex would be his major priority when elected come 2019.

Balogun who declared this recently in Adogo, the local government headquarters while making public declaration of his intention berated past representatives from the constituency of playing second fiddle in matters that concern resuscitation of the steel complex.

Apart from tackling widespread illiteracy, deteriorated health and educational facilities, Balogun revealed that it has been his dream to be part of sincere effort towards making Nigeria technologically viable through effective legislation.

He said “I have given enough time to the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party to change the fortune of Ajaokuta but they failed. We have to rise up to rescue the constituents from neglect and conscious pauperisation of our people “

The aspirant further alluded to the calls by Nigerians that all the recovered loots should be used to revamp the steel complex which he disclosed has reached 98% completion before it was abandoned.
He commended the Chief Administrator of Ajaokuta, Hon Mustapha Akaba for putting enduring structures in place for posterity.

Reacting, the chairman of APC in Ajaokuta Local Government, Comrade Hussein Balogun expressed optimism that his party will continue to consolidate the gains recorded at both federal, state and local levels in the country.

While urging all aspirants to play the game according to the rules, the party chairman noted that the multitudes that thronged the venue of official declaration of Hon. Yusuf Umar Balogun is a confirmation of the total acceptance of the party in the state.
