The Campaign Organisation of Hon. Akinwale Aledare has denied the rumours making the rounds that he (Akinwale) had stepped down from the House of Assembly race of Kabba/Bunu constituency.
Mr Akinwale is contesting under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the group, Arakunrin Jide Adebola, he said that Hon. Akinwale had not pulled out and had no intentions to do so.
Adebola advised those spreading the rumour to utilize their time better in preparing for the forthcoming primary election of the party rather than spreading falsehoods.
“The attention of the Team Akinwale Campaign Organization has been drawn to a false rumour making the rounds in Kabba that Akinwale has stepped down from the race.
“We want to state categorically that Akinwale remains a candidate to beat in the primaries.
“Those spreading the rumours are merely demonstrating that they are already jittery and we hereby advise them to go and prepare for the primary elections rather than spreading falsehoods.
“We want to state emphatically that Hon. Akinwale has not and has no intentions to quit the Kabba/Bunu House of Assembly race.
“Let it be known that we are currently working assiduously towards the primaries to clinch the ticket of our great party, the PDP.
The group advised the leadership of the party in Kabba/Bunu to be careful in the way they conduct the affairs of the party, lest the party loses its chances at victory in the elections.
“We must work in unity as a party, we must refrain from all forms of impunity and imposition of candidate for any position at all,” the group said.
The Chairman of the Campaign Organisation expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the elections come 2019.
He called on all supporters of Hon. Akinwale to be steadfast in their support and not allow themselves be swayed, stressing that they must remain on the right side of the law in all their dealings.
He urged them to always bear in mind the position of the House of Assembly aspirant that “the election is not worth the life of any Kogite”.
