Man Dies After Argument Over 'Ogogoro' in Kogi

By Sam Egwu

Ganaja Junction, in Lokoja, was yesterday, rubbed of its usual hustling and bustling spirit after a minor argument over a glass of drink resulted in the death of one of the men at the ogogoro spot in the area.

Following the incidence, security operatives from D division, of Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Kogi State command were all over the place.

This resulted in the interrogation of all passerby. Owners of shops in the area also closed their shops in a hurry to avoid unnecessary arrest and humiliation from the police who were looking for any opportunity to put people on the drills.

A source who would not want to be mentioned, disclosed that the deceased, Bode Sule, had begun to haul insults on everybody at the joint just because he disagreed with something.

The insults annoyed one other person who pushed him in anger. The push however, caused him to fall hard onto the graveled ground.

Confirming the incident, the officer at the D-division of Kogi State police command, who begged for anonymity with the excuse that only the Police Public Relations Officer can comment on the issue, stressed that arrests have been made and would make the findings public soon.

Meanwhile, the body of Bode Sule is lying in the morgue somewhere in an undisclosed mortuary within the town awaiting clearance after informing the relations, it was gathered.
